Grab your umbrella, we’re in for a rainy start to the workweek

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — More rounds of showers and storms are expected Monday and Tuesday. Between the two days, an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall across southeast Texas, which is in addition to the 1 to 3 inches of rain many picked up over the weekend. This could lead to continued localized flooding of low-lying and areas with poor drainage. Ponding on roads is expected, but flash flooding is not at this point. Otherwise, both Monday and Tuesday will be slightly cooler but humid.

How long will this rainy weather pattern stick around?

We are keeping rain chances at 60-70% through Tuesday as this unsettled pattern lingers over the region. By Wednesday it begins to push eastward, so rain chances should slide down to 20% by Friday.

Now that it’s hurricane season, is anything happening in the tropics?

Now that Arlene has fallen apart, tropical development is not expected over the next 7 days, but we’ll keep a watch for any potential storms in the future. Tropical Update page.
