Man arrested, admits to killing 78-year-old woman in Rowlett, police say

A man was arrested over the weekend and is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend in Rowlett, police said.

Shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 8500 block of Seafield Lane in response to a call about an unresponsive person, police said. Rowlett is about 20 miles northeast of Dallas.

Officers found a woman who had been shot inside a home there, according to police. The woman, identified as Sharon Radebaugh, 78, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Investigators determined that the fatal shooting stemmed from a “previous relationship” the woman was in, police said. Authorities identified Wilson Elliott, 83, of Trinity as the suspect and arrested him about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

Elliott admitted to shooting Radebaugh after a “confrontation” related to her new relationship, police said. He is facing a murder charge and his bond is $1 million, according to police.
