Dangerous heat through Wednesday

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday for North Texas. High heat and humidity are expected with highs soaring into the mid-90s to 100 and heat index values in excess of 110-120 degrees.

Please take the heat seriously. Limit any strenuous outdoor activities to the morning hours and be sure to hydrate with cool water. Take frequent breaks in the shade, or better yet, get inside and cool off.

There’s a slight chance for a stray storm Wednesday through Friday, but most areas will remain dry. Otherwise, it’s all about the sunshine and heat. The heat will decrease slightly Thursday and Friday with highs in the low 90s and a heat index of 100-105 degrees.

The heat will return this weekend into next week with highs in the upper 90s to low 100s with enough humidity to push the heat index to around 110.
