Heat Advisory through the weekend

The heat is really cranking up this weekend, and it will last all of next week. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for North Texas through 8 p.m. Sunday, and will likely be extended beyond then.

A building ridge of high pressure will allow temperatures to soar this coming week. Highs on Saturday afternoon climbed above 100 from Fort Worth to the west. And while Dallas didn’t reach the century mark, it felt like it, with heat index values between 105-110. Sunday will also feature high heat and humidity with temperatures likely to reach 100 all across DFW by late afternoon.

The sizzling hot pattern continues all next week with a stretch of daily highs above 100 degrees, perhaps as high as 105 by mid week. Be safe and stay cool!
