Hottest weather so far this summer

Summertime heat is in full swing for this final week of June. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for North Texas through 8 p.m. Monday, and will likely be extended all of the work week.

A building ridge of high pressure will allow temperatures to soar the next several days. The first 100 degree day of the year is expected at DFW Airport late Sunday afternoon, with heat index values climbing to 105-110.

The sizzling hot pattern continues all of the upcoming week, with a stretch of daily highs above 100 degrees, perhaps as high as 107 by mid week. The Heat Index will be mostly in the 105 to 110 degree range, although some days may rise above 110. Be safe and stay cool!
