Shortly before 3:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Andrea Lane in response to a shooting, Forest Hill police said. Inside of a home in the area, officers found a girl who had been shot, according to a Sunday news release. She was pronounced dead at the location, police said.

About an hour after the shooting was reported to authorities, officers were dispatched to a different shooting in the 6000 block of Maiden Lane, less than a mile away from where the girl was found, police said.
