Triple digit heat for several days

A Heat Advisory is in effect for North Texas until 9 p.m. Wednesday with heat index values between 105 and 112 expected.

While parts of North Texas saw rain Tuesday morning, the rain chances have ended. Expect dry and hot weather the rest of the week and through the weekend. High Temperatures will range from 100 to 103. The heat index could go as high as 112 Wednesday, but closer to 105-108 Thursday through the weekend.

Given that most areas have not experienced widespread rainfall in the last few weeks, the fire danger is elevated for areas near and west of the DFW metroplex. Avoid outdoor burning and be careful doing anything that can create sparks.
