Dallas man dead, 1 wounded in Garland shooting, police say

A Dallas man died, and another man was wounded after being shot in Garland Tuesday night, police said.

Garland police officers responded to a shooting call a little after 7 p.m. in the 3300 block of South Shiloh Road. When officers arrived, they learned two men were heading northbound in the area on a gas-powered scooter.

As they proceeded on a green light, unknown suspects in a car shot them, police said. The suspect car fled northbound on South Shiloh Road.

Both men were taken to an area hospital with gunshot wounds. One unidentified man, who police called a Dallas resident, died at the hospital.

Police said his identity will not be released before his next of kin is notified. Detectives are investigating and speaking with witnesses to determine what led to the shooting.
