Kate Middleton ditches ‘regular’ accessory from wardrobe to favour ‘regal’ look

Kate Middleton is responsible for bringing back many forgotten trends into the limelight and the royal seems to inspire others to follow.

According to style expert Miranda Holder, the Princess of Wales had a key accessory as a staple but she seems to be transitioning into a new style with her new position.

The stylist explained to Hello! that headbands used to be a “regular part” of Kate’s “stylish fashion arsenal.”

However, recently, the headbands “seem to have been dropped as a key accessory, in favour of more fully formed hats and headpieces.”

Holder described that the accessory was a ‘lovely way to finish off an outfit, adding height, colour, and a sense of formality to a range of occasions and they rlly suited Kate.’

She added that it “doesn’t fit” with the royal’s “more sophisticated and regal style aesthetic.”

The expert acknowledged that Kate had undergone a subtle “regal” wardrobe transformation since the ascension of King Charles. Kate was promoted to Princess of Wales from Duchess of Cambridge.

The expert shared that Kate is preparing for her role as the Queen Consort which is why she is getting rid of anything “girlish” from her wardrobe.

“The feminine, girlish headband with its connotations of romance and innocence no longer feels right.”

However, while Kate may have ditched the accessory, other royals are now following suit. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are also fans of headbands and the stylist feels it looks “great” on them.
