16-year-old girl missing from Royse City since Saturday found safe, police say

An Amber Alert issued Tuesday afternoon for a 16-year-old girl missing from Royse City since early Saturday morning was canceled Wednesday after the girl was found safe, police said.

According to police, the girl was located “in good health” at a Euless residence.

The girl was last seen Saturday about 5 a.m. after spending the night at a friend’s house in the 300 block of North Houston Street, near West Church Street.

Police said she told the friend her mother called her an Uber because she wanted her to come home before getting in a black passenger car with chrome wheels. The friend said the girl texted her about her ride, including one text saying she had arrived at her home in Caddo Mills.

However, the girl’s mother went to the friend’s house on Houston Street to pick her up Saturday afternoon, not knowing she’d left, police said.

The girl’s father checked her phone location and saw it had been turned off, police said. Her last location was recorded about 7 a.m. in Euless, about 50 miles west of Royse City.

Her mother drove to Euless and contacted police there but was unable to find her. Royse City police then listed the girl as a “missing person/runaway.”

Police previously said they had no information that the girl was abducted, but “due to the length of time since she was last heard from, there are serious concerns for her safety.”
