Teen arrested in fatal Fort Worth shooting of 77-year-old woman, per police records

An 18-year-old was arrested on a murder charge in connection with the fatal shooting of a 77-year-old woman in Fort Worth, police records show.

Fort Worth police arrested Aaron Wooden Thursday afternoon. His bail on the murder charge was not immediately set, records show, but he is also facing a misdemeanor charge for unlawful carrying of a weapon for a separate incident.

An attorney appointed to represent him in that case did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Crime in The NewsOfficers responded about 5:50 a.m. July 28 to a shooting call in the 1400 block of Carol Oaks Lane, near Interstate 30 and Sandy Lane, where they found Ora Griffin dead in the dining room. Police said she had multiple gunshot wounds.

Someone fired numerous times into Griffin’s home and fled, police said. No additional information was shared about the circumstances of the shooting and what led police to arrest Wooden.
