Record heat through Friday

The intense heat wave will stick around through the remainder of the week and this weekend. An excessive heat warning is in effect for Thursday and Friday across much of North Texas. High temperatures will be in or above record territory on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Luckily, the heat dome will shift westward by early next week, allowing for a weak, summertime front to move into North Texas. This front will bring a slight cool down with highs in the mid to upper 90s along with a slight chance of a stray storm.

Temperatures will once again heat up to triple digits by the time we get to the start of the Labor Day weekend.
