A wrong-way driver caused a deadly head-on collision early Saturday morning near the Oak Lawn and Love Field neighborhoods, officials say.

The crash occurred about 4:35 a.m. on the Dallas North Tollway, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a news release.

Connor Steyer, 27, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the tollway, where his 2019 Mazda CX5 struck a 2017 Ford F-150 traveling southbound, authorities said.

Steyer and the driver of the Ford, 55-year-old Jorrick Battle from Houston, both died, the news release said.
