Carroll Middle School student dies after ‘medical emergency’ on campus, district announces

The Carroll ISD community is in mourning after a seventh-grade student died Friday evening, according to an email from the district.

Julio Oliveira, who attended Carroll Middle School, had a “medical emergency” on campus Thursday morning, district officials said in an email Saturday.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Julio’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” the email read.

The school district did not immediately return a request for more information, including what the child was doing when he experienced his medical emergency.
