Pakistan down Oman, draw with Malaysia in Asian Hockey5s

LAHORE: Pakistan continued their domination in the Hockey5s Asia Cup as they beat Oman and played a high-scoring draw with Malaysia in Salalah, Oman on Thursday.

The national side beat Oman 9-4 to register their fourth victory on the trot before their perfect run ended with a 5-5 draw against Malaysia. Nevertheless, Paki­stan stayed on top of the tournament’s Elite category’s standings with 13 points.

Pakistan captain Rana Ab­dul Waheed, who had alre­ady scored 13 goals in the first three matches, added to his tally five more against Oman and three more against Malaysia.

In the Oman fixture, Arshad Liaqat scored a brace while Mohammad Abdullah and Zikriya Hayat contributed a goal apiece. Against Malaysia, Murtaza Mohammad and Abdul Rehman were also on the scoreboard.
