Chance for thunderstorms on Sunday in North Texas

The first weekend of September started out nicely, with a low of 71 at DFW, and the 60s for much of the surrounding areas. It did climb back to the upper 90s by late Saturday afternoon.

A slow-moving upper-level low pressure system will approach the area on Sunday bringing a chance for a few spotty showers and thunderstorms. The activity will be very hit or miss in variety and much of the region will remain dry with partial sunshine. But after the third hottest and fourth driest summer on record, any rain chance is much appreciated.

Temperatures will once again heat up into the triple digits beginning on Labor Day, with highs approaching record levels by the end of the week.
