Passenger injured during drive-by shooting in N. Harris County while in Lyft, deputies say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigated an active scene where one person was injured in what is believed to have been a targeted shooting on Sunday afternoon in N. Harris County.

The incident happened along Kuykendahl near FM 1960 just before 2 p.m., according to officials, but the scene was outside the emergency room at HCA Houston Northwest.

There was a white Kia with multiple bullet holes parked out front of the hospital’s entrance.

HCSO said the victim, a man in his early 20s, was picked up by a Lyft driver. Shortly after, shots were fired toward the car and hit the man several times, including once in his face.

From there, the Lyft driver, who was not injured, drove the injured passenger to the hospital.

The victim is expected to survive, according to officials.

HCSO did not elaborate on a description of the suspect or vehicle.
