1 dead, 1 in custody in West Dallas shooting, police say

A man was fatally shot Saturday afternoon in West Dallas and a person has been taken into custody, police say.

Officers responded about 3:10 p.m. to the 2600 block of Kenesaw Drive, near Bernal Drive in the Ledbetter area, and found a man shot. Police said the man, who has not been publicly identified, died from his injuries.

Officers took a person into custody, but police said no charges had been filed Saturday evening. The person’s name was not released.

No additional details were immediately available, and police said the investigation is ongoing.
