ATC remands TikToker over May 9 riots

PESHAWAR: An anti-terrorism court on Saturday granted a one-day physical remand of a TikToker to the police here over his alleged involvement in the May 9 riots.

The police’s investigation officer informed the court that the accused, Imran alias Cheeta, hurled stones at police and government buildings with the help of a slingshot and was involved in the riots on May 9.

He added that the accused was seen hurling stones at the police in a video clip, which went viral on social media.

The investigation officer said that a case was registered against the accused at the Khan Raziq police station on May 10.

He said the court should grant the physical custody of the accused to the police for further investigation.

The court accepted the request and remanded the accused in police custody for a day.
