Late summer heat returning

This final week of summer will be on the warm side with highs in the 90s. These numbers are well above normal for mid/late September (normal high in the upper 80s). However, triple-digit heat is not expected to return. In addition, low humidity will keep the comfort level in check.

Higher humidity and a disturbance from the west will bring a chance of thunderstorms by Tuesday night. Some of these could be severe with a threat for damaging winds and hail. A few showers may linger into early Wednesday.

Another brief chance of thunderstorms may return early in the weekend. Fall officially begins Saturday.
