Storms tonight

A few disturbances rippling through the jet stream will generate some thunderstorms this evening and overnight. A few storms may be severe with potentially large hail and damaging winds. Northwest Texas will have the highest chance of severe storms this evening. The storms will gradually weaken as they move east into North Texas.

For DFW, the highest chance of storms will be from 10 p.m. through 1 a.m. Much of the rest of the night will be dry.

There will be a chance of additional storms Wednesday, mainly east of the DFW metro across East and Northeast Texas. Spotty storms will again be possible on Thursday and Friday.

Temperatures will remain above normal through the weekend with highs in the low to mid-90s, above the normal high of 88. Slightly cooler weather is expected for next week.
