Body of man reported missing out of Dallas found hundreds of miles away, police say

The body of a man reported missing out of Dallas earlier this month has been found hundreds of miles away in south Texas, police said.

Around 12:40 a.m. Sept. 8, officers were called to the 1800 block of Ramsey Avenue in east Oak Cliff, where someone reported that 26-year-old Anthony Ramirez Ibarra “was missing from the home,” said Michael Dennis, a Dallas police spokesman.

Last week, authorities found the body of a man in Live Oak County, which is about 60 miles northwest of Corpus Christi, Dennis said. On Saturday, the Live Oak County medical examiner’s office identified the body as that of Ramirez Ibarra, he added.

Investigators believe Ramirez Ibarra died from “homicidal violence,” according to police.

The investigation is ongoing.
