Freeze warning Halloween night for North Texas

Some parts of North Texas experienced their first freeze of the season Tuesday morning. Most of these spots are north or west of DFW. The rest of us, including all of the DFW metroplex, will experience our first freeze late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Our average first freeze for DFW is Nov. 22, so this one will be VERY early. Take those precautions to protect those fall plants and flowers.

A chilly pattern will remain in place through Wednesday with temperatures well below normal. As our wind changes to a southerly direction by Thursday, a warmup will commence across North Texas.

High temperatures by the weekend will climb back into the mid to upper 70s.
