Police investigating possible murder-suicide attempt in Haltom City, officials say

Haltom City officials are investigating a Sunday morning shooting as a possible attempted murder-suicide, police said in a news release.

Officers responded about 6:30 a.m. to a reported shooting in the 2900 block of Fincher Road and found a female dead and a man with critical injuries, police said. Neither of their identities were immediately released.

“Based upon preliminary information, we are investigating this incident as a possible murder and attempted suicide,” the release said. “This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the citizens in the area.”

The man was taken to the hospital, and police said he will likely face criminal charges.

Detectives and evidence technicians were continuing to process the scene as of Sunday evening.

The investigation is ongoing.
