1 dead, 1 wounded in ‘random’ shooting near Walmart in Frisco, police say

One person was killed, and another wounded Wednesday evening in a “random” shooting near a Walmart in Frisco, police said.

Frisco police officers responded to a shooting a little after 9:30 p.m. in the area of Walmart on the northwest corner of Preston Road and Hickory Street. When officers arrived, they found one person in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds and another person nearby on Hickory Street with multiple gunshot wounds, police said in a news release.

Frisco Fire Department transported both victims to local hospitals, where one unidentified person died from their wounds. The second person is in stable condition, police said.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, police said. After further investigation, police believe the two victims were shot at random.
