Suspect arrested in slaying of man whose vehicle was stolen in Dallas, police say

A suspect was arrested Friday in the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man days earlier in Old East Dallas, according to officials.

Alejandro Deleon, 30, was booked into the Dallas County jail on a murder charge. He remained in custody Tuesday on a $750,000 bond, records show.

It was unclear whether he had an attorney.

Officers responded about 4 a.m. Nov. 14 to the 5300 block of Parry Avenue and found a gunshot victim, later identified as Marco Ramirez, according to police. Ramirez was taken to the hospital where he died.

Investigators believe Ramirez’s vehicle was stolen from his home and he followed at least one suspect to the area where the was shot, police said. The stolen vehicle was recovered about a block from where Ramirez was found.

It was unclear whether additional suspects were involved in the shooting or if Deleon would be facing charges related to the stolen vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
