Man shot to death in front of his N. Harris Co. home, deputies say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A man found dead next to a pickup truck in a north Harris County neighborhood may have been shot, the sheriff said on Wednesday.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, information about the death at a home in the 1000 block of Grassy View, located off Imperial Valley Drive and south of East Airtex Drive.

According to the sheriff, preliminary info stated the victim was a Hispanic man who may have been in his 30s, which was later clarified to a man in his 50s.

Det. David Crain of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit said a passerby found the victim lying down in the front yard of his home at about 2:30 p.m.

A motive wasn’t immediately known, but the sheriff’s office said it had some idea of who investigators were looking for.

ABC13 spoke to witnesses and family, who said the victim came home from work when he was accosted as he was getting out of his truck.
