The threat of severe weather is over, more thunderstorms possible Friday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Good news! The threat of severe weather is now over and so is our Weather Alert Day. Thunderstorms over eastern Chambers County will move into Louisiana later this evening.

Our weather should quiet down overnight with low temperatures in the mid 60s. Extensive low clouds and fog are possible as we head toward sunrise. Sunshine breaking through the clouds will warm temperatures into the 70s. A cold front arriving late Friday should trigger an additional round of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, but the ingredients are not in place for rotating severe storms.

Will showers and storms continue this weekend?

The first weekend of December looks mostly dry! The front should continue pushing offshore Friday night, pushing the moisture out along with it. While we cannot rule out a few showers in the morning, Saturday afternoon should be dry.
