Amber Alert canceled after 3 Collin County children found safe; mother arrested

An Amber Alert was canceled Wednesday afternoon for three Collin County children after they were found safe.

Princeton police said in a news release about 4 p.m. that the children were located in Plano. Nazia Ali, their mother, was at the location and arrested, police said.

It’s not clear what charges she’s facing in connection with the incident.

Authorities in Princeton were looking for Zainab Ali, 16; Umar Ali, 5; and Ayesha Ali, 8. They were last seen in the 100 block of Nathan Drive, near County Road 447, in Princeton, a town of 17,000 about 40 miles northeast of downtown Dallas.

Authorities said Nazia Ali, 37 was a suspect in the children’s disappearance, according to the alert. Princeton police said officers responded about 11 a.m. Wednesday to a “suspicious circumstance” call where three children left their home with Nazia Ali.

Police said the mother does not have rights to the children due to her bond conditions but did not provide additional details on the conditions and what charges she may be facing.

Collin County court records show Ali’s bond was revoked Wednesday, and she previously faced a charge of continuous violence against the family.
