58 cars damaged in fire at Denton County automobile auction facility, officials say

Dozens of cars were damaged in a fire at an automobile auction facility in Denton County early Sunday morning, officials say.

Authorities were dispatched about 1:30 a.m. to the facility in the 3700 block of McPherson Drive, near Harmonson Road, in Northlake, Denton County Emergency Services District 1 said in a news release.

Crews from the Flower Mound Fire Department, the Justin Volunteer Fire Department, the Roanoke Fire Department, the Tarrant County Emergency Services District and the Denton Fire Department also responded. Front loaders from All American Towing helped move vehicles and create a fire break along the line of vehicles parked in the lot, the release said.

In total, 58 vehicles were impacted by the fire, which was declared out at 3:09 a.m., according to the release.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear. The Denton County fire marshal’s office will investigate.
