60-year-old man dies weeks after assault in north Oak Cliff, Dallas police say

A 60-year-old man died Wednesday, weeks after Dallas police say he was assaulted in north Oak Cliff.

Officers were dispatched Dec. 9 about 3:15 a.m. to the 100 block of North Polk Street, near West 10th Street, where, according to police, Ira Lollis was assaulted “by unknown individuals.”

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and took Lollis to a hospital in critical condition, police said. He died of his injuries Wednesday afternoon.
