Teen dead after shooting in southeast Oak Cliff, police say; warrant issued for suspect

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 17-year-old believed to have fatally shot another teen Sunday in southeast Oak Cliff, Dallas police announced Monday afternoon.

Officers responded about 10:40 a.m. to the 700 block of Grambling Drive near Buford Drive and found a female victim shot by a suspect, police said.

The victim, identified by police as 17-year-old Ikea Imari Hood, died at the scene.

Detectives identified Trevon Darnell Wright as the suspect in the shooting and said a warrant was issued for his arrest. He faces a murder charge.

The investigation is ongoing.
