North Texas woman gets help collecting her money after selling tickets online

Elisabeth Hamilton eagerly anticipated attending a Texas Longhorns football game with her son this season and purchased tickets online from SeatGeek. However, due to a scheduling conflict, she was unable to attend and opted to resell the tickets on the same platform.

Encountering a hurdle, Hamilton realized that SeatGeek had her old email address on file, which she no longer had access to. Despite weeks of attempting to resolve the issue directly with SeatGeek, she found herself at an impasse.

Turning to NBC 5 Responds for assistance, Hamilton sought help in retrieving her funds, totaling $540.

Upon reaching out to SeatGeek, NBC 5 Responds facilitated communication, resulting in SeatGeek rectifying the issue and Hamilton successfully reclaiming her money. While SeatGeek declined to provide a statement, they confirmed that the matter had been resolved.

Expressing relief, Hamilton remarked, “Thank goodness we have NBC 5 Responds to turn to!”

This incident underscores the importance of regularly reviewing and updating one’s online account settings, ensuring that contact and payment information, including email addresses, remain current and accurate to avoid complications during transactions.
