In Houston, Texas, when you hear about the 2024 RodeoHouston artist Major Lazer, don’t expect a lone military officer spinning tracks on the iconic star-shaped stage.

Major Lazer, a trio renowned for their energy, vibes, and commitment to peace, will bring their unique blend of Jamaican dancehall-inspired electronic music to NRG Stadium on Friday, March 8.

The platinum-certified group consists of well-known producers Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Ape Drums, a proud native of Houston.

Ahead of their performance, Eyewitness News caught up with Ape Drums to discuss his memories of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, his favorite rodeo food, the importance of blending country and non-country genres at the event, and what non-Major Lazer fans can expect and enjoy.
