Before attending the 2024 Houston Downtown Rodeo Parade, here’s what you need to know

In Houston, Texas, the Downtown Rodeo Parade is scheduled for Saturday, February 24th at 10 a.m. This event celebrates Western heritage and marks the commencement of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, a cherished tradition in the city since 1932.

Expect street closures on the morning of the parade and Rodeo Run, starting at 8:30 a.m. Streets will reopen after the events conclude in the afternoon around 2 p.m.

The grand marshal of this year’s Downtown Rodeo Parade is Arch “Beaver” Aplin III, the founder and CEO of Buc-ee’s. Aplin will be accompanied by the iconic Buc-ee’s mascot, Beaver, who will walk the parade route alongside the rodeo’s beloved mascot, Howdy.
