Two women shot outside Fort Worth movie theater early Friday

Two women are in recovery after sustaining gunshot wounds during a disturbance in southwest Fort Worth early Friday morning.

Fort Worth Police reported that units from the West division responded to the 6300 block of Hulen Bend Boulevard shortly after 2 a.m. following reports of a “large commotion” in the parking lot near the AMC theater.

Authorities stated that staff members at the Fort Worth Police Real Time Crime Center observed a female being placed into a vehicle. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the location, but the crowd had already dispersed.

Subsequently, a woman arrived at Medical City Hospital with a gunshot wound. At this juncture, the Fort Worth Police Department learned of a second female victim, who had also been brought to Harris Southwest Hospital by a private vehicle. The latter victim was subsequently transferred to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth by air ambulance, as per police reports.

Although both shooting victims survived, police have not disclosed their current conditions.

Authorities have not provided further details regarding the circumstances leading to the shooting or the individuals involved.
