17-year-old fights for his life after being shot in head near north Houston gas station, HPD says

In north Houston, a teenager is in critical condition at the hospital after being shot in the head on Wednesday night. Houston Police Department officers responded to the scene near the intersection of Ella Boulevard and West Rankin, where they found the teenager had crashed into another vehicle on the roadway.

According to investigators, the shooting occurred following a disturbance, and the victim crashed while attempting to escape in a black pickup truck. Surveillance video from a gas station on Ella Boulevard captured the incident, showing the black pickup speeding away as shots were fired. In the video, a person is seen shooting at the truck as it attempts to drive off. The relationship between the victim and the shooter remains unclear. The teenager’s family has informed law enforcement that he is alive but in critical condition at the hospital.
