The incident unfolded at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday when Garza and his uncle made a stop for gas and a drink en route to Sunny’s convenience store on Bauman Road and Robmore Street in Houston’s Northside.

According to the Houston Police Department, an attempted robbery occurred during their stop.

Reflecting on her father’s untimely demise, 13-year-old Aniyah Garza, Andrew’s daughter, expressed profound grief, describing him as a supportive and loving figure during her toughest times.
