Kate Winslet reveals most unexpected fan recognition source

Kate Winslet shared a surprising revelation about fan encounters. While many might expect her to be most recognized for her iconic role as Rose DeWitt Bukater in Titanic, Winslet revealed that fans more often approach her about another film entirely: the heartwarming holiday rom-com The Holiday.

The actress visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, where she discussed her most significant projects throughout her career with the host.

“People come up to me in the streets more about The Holiday and the episode of Extras that I did than Titanic,” she shared on the show.

“Especially at Christmas, and what’s so lovely is that mothers and daughters come up to me in the grocery store and they say, ‘OK, we just love The Holiday. It’s our little ritual at Christmas.’ And they have things that they eat every year. They sit down, it’s a tradition, and I just love that,” Winslet added. “That’s something I never would have expected, this sort of mother-daughter connection around a film like that. It’s so nice. It’s lovely.”

Kate Winslet starred in the rom-com movie The Holiday in 2006 with Jack Black, Jude Law, and Cameron Diaz. The movie tells the story of two women who swapped homes and found love with local men.

In 1997, Kate Winslet starred in Titanic with Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie is about a teenage aristocrat who falls in love with a poor artist aboard the ill-fated RMS Titanic. Her role as Rose earned her an Oscar nomination.
