Kensington Palace has released a new statement to reassure Kate Middleton’s fans about her possible return to the royal duty.
The palace appeared confirming that the Princess of Wales is doing well and will return to royal duties after Easter Sunday.
The Princess of Wales, who underwent a planneabdominal operation in January, hasn’t been seen in public since Christmas Day.
In a new statement, a Palace spokesperson sought to reassure well-wishers after speculation broke out on social media questioning the Princess’s possible whereabouts, her health update and comeback date.
The royal spokesperson said: “Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the princess’ recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates. That guidance stands.”
They did, however, add that Kate continues to do “well”.
The palace was referring to a statement published on January 17, in which it was announced that the Princess had undergone surgery and that she planned to return to royal engagements after Easter, which falls on Sunday (this year on March 31).
That statement read: “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.
“Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share. The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
