Inbound lanes on I-45 re-opened after investigation of wrong-way crash that killed 2 drivers

The inbound lanes of the I-45 North Freeway have reopened following an investigation into a fatal wrong-way crash that claimed the lives of two drivers, as confirmed by the Houston Police Department.

The lanes were cleared and operational again just before noon on Saturday, subsequent to the incident that occurred around 4:12 a.m. on the North Freeway at Parker near Tidwell.

According to HPD, a blue SUV was reported to have been traveling in the wrong direction in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with another driver in a dark-colored sedan traveling southbound.

The impact of the collision was so severe that both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities mentioned that neither of the victims had passengers in their vehicles.
