2 suspects accused of shooting at Houston-area club, injuring 4 after being denied entry, HPD says

The Houston Police Department is currently seeking suspects involved in a shooting incident that left four individuals injured outside a bar on Washington Avenue in west Houston on Saturday night.

According to investigators, the altercation began inside the Lincoln Bar near Reinerman Street, where two men engaged in a fight. Two off-duty deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, who were working security, intervened and asked the men to leave the premises.

Although the men exited the bar, they continued arguing with the deputies about re-entering the establishment, but their request was denied, as per police reports.

Subsequently, at least one of the men entered a black, early 2000s model Chevrolet SUV, while the other remained outside and continued arguing with the security personnel. Allegedly, a woman at the scene encouraged the man outside to join the others in the vehicle. Upon compliance, the driver of the SUV reportedly produced a handgun and opened fire towards the security personnel, inadvertently hitting four other individuals, including additional security staff.

Assistant Chief Wyatt Martin expressed concern over the suspects’ indiscriminate shooting, highlighting their apparent disregard for the safety of bystanders. The Houston Police Department confirmed that the deputies refrained from returning fire due to the dense pedestrian presence, prioritizing public safety.

The injured victims, including two security personnel, were transported to the hospital and underwent surgery. Fortunately, all four are expected to recover from their injuries.

The suspects are described as Hispanic men in their 20s. One wore a white shirt and blue pants, while the others wore a green shirt and blue pants. Investigators have obtained surveillance footage and detailed descriptions of the suspects as part of the ongoing search.

This incident adds to recent concerns over nightclub violence in the area, with authorities urging anyone with relevant information to contact the Houston Police Department promptly.
