Harris County DA Kim Ogg experiences voting issues after ballot already cast in her name

Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg expressed frustration upon leaving the polls on Tuesday morning when she was initially told she couldn’t vote.

This was due to a mistake made by the Harris County Clerk’s Office, where Ogg’s partner, who shares the same address and is registered to vote, had accidentally voted early under Ogg’s name.

While the clerk’s office labeled this incident as isolated, Ogg raised concerns about the potential for similar mishaps affecting others. She emphasized the importance of voters verifying their information to avoid such errors.

The clerk’s office acknowledged the mistake and clarified that it was rectified promptly, enabling Ogg to cast her ballot without transferring any votes.

Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth acknowledged that while elections may not be flawless, efforts are made to address issues promptly.
