‘Barbie’ movie party continues with amphitheater concert tour coming to Houston

HOUSTON, Texas — After becoming the highest-grossing movie of 2023, “Barbie” has sparked a new venture for Mattel with Barbie The Movie: In Concert, a live-to-film concert experience tour scheduled to make a stop at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands on Friday, August 2.

The tour will kick off in Tampa, Florida, visiting 37 cities before concluding on August 18 in Wantagh, New York. Two Texas cities are part of the tour; besides Houston, it will also visit Dallas on August 3.

Produced by Overture Global Entertainment, the concert will bring Mattel Film’s inaugural theatrical production to the stage with live music performed by The Barbie Land Sinfonietta. The event will feature a special presentation from Orchestrator and Executive Producer Macy Schmidt’s all-women and majority women-of-color orchestra.
