Downtown Dallas hotel makes shelter dog ‘Chief Happiness Officer’

You don’t have to visit a hotel bar during happy hour; at Fairmont Dallas, happy hour lasts all day, thanks to the hotel’s Chief Happiness Officer, Bondi, an 8-month-old shelter dog.

“We brought Bondi on board a few months ago,” explained Yoke Yong, Director of Talent & Culture at Fairmont Dallas.

“When I joined this hotel, I thought it would be a wonderful addition to bring happiness to people at work. When our team members are happy, it positively impacts our guests’ experiences as well.”

Bondi can be found stationed in the lobby, keeping herself occupied with her water bowl, chasing toys, and receiving pets from departing guests.

“She’s the cutest dog ever,” remarked hotel guest Zack Forgrave from Raleigh. “She brightens up the environment and makes everyone happy. Just look at her – she’s perfect.”

“It’s wonderful to come out of the room and see a dog in the lobby that we can interact with,” added hotel guest Ruben Ramos from Boston. “It truly enhances the experience!”

“It brings me joy and tranquility,” shared Forgrave. “Experiencing unconditional love like this is incomparable!”

Yong mentioned that Fairmont Dallas believes they are the only hotel in the area with a resident dog.

“At Fairmont, we strive to turn moments into lasting memories,” Yong stated. “So, I believe Bondi is here with the purpose of creating special memories for our guests.”

Yong adopted Bondi from Operation Kindness Animal Shelter in Carrollton.

“She’s such a kind and gentle dog,” Yong expressed. “There are countless beautiful animals out there in need of a loving home.”

While hotel guests may come and go, Bondi has found her forever home, bringing smiles to everyone at Fairmont Dallas.
