Dallas builds 2026 World Cup strategy as international spotlight shines on North Texas

Dallas is already making plans for how the 2026 World Cup will transform North Texas in the coming years as the region gears up to host nine games and welcome thousands of international fans. City leaders convened with the Dallas Sports Commission and Visit Dallas on Tuesday to discuss the economic impact the World Cup will bring to D-FW and outline the next steps in preparation.

Arlington’s AT&T Stadium will host the most matches of any other host city, totaling nine games, promising a significant financial boost to North Texas. Monica Paul, executive director of the Dallas Sports Commission, has played a pivotal role in advocating for North Texas to host the World Cup.

Despite Arlington not securing the final match, D-FW still has the opportunity to establish the region as a central hub for the World Cup.
