GUJAR KHAN: Six suspects have been taken into custody by the Jhelum police in connection with a desecration case registered at the Kala Gujran police station a few days ago.
The case was registered on the complaint of a local resident, who claimed to have been handed over torched copies of the Holy Quran in the Mahmoodabad area. The case was registered under sections 295-A and 295-B of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Jhelum District Police Officer (DPO) Nasir Mahmood Bajwa said two teams have been formed to look into the matter.
Meanwhile, the TLP called off its protest after Friday prayers following the arrest of suspects on Thursday.
