Shooting in W. 7th District stemmed from argument and fist fight, Fort Worth Police say

Fort Worth Police are continuing their investigation into a shooting that occurred about a month ago in the West 7th Street Entertainment District, leaving one man seriously injured.

The incident took place on March 17 around 1:00 a.m., near Bledsoe and Currie Streets.

Authorities believe that a confrontation and physical altercation involving five suspects escalated when one of them resorted to using a weapon, turning the situation into a deadly force.

Fort Worth Police Department’s spokesperson, Officer Buddy Calzada, emphasized the importance of gathering information from witnesses and encouraged anyone with relevant details to come forward. He specifically mentioned the need to locate one witness and provided descriptions of the suspects involved.

Calzada expressed gratitude for witnesses who provided video footage, which assisted officers in sharing snapshots with the public for further assistance in the investigation.

Fort Worth Police are urging anyone with information about the suspects to contact Detective Lopez directly or to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County.

The recent shooting incidents in the entertainment district have left residents like McKenzie and Ryan Lamb feeling uneasy. While they have fond memories of the area and its vibrant atmosphere during the day, recent events have led them to be cautious, especially at night. They hope for increased safety measures and a return to the lively and welcoming atmosphere they once knew in the West 7th district.
