Man live streams his final moments before shootout with law enforcement on Facebook

In the aftermath of her brother’s fatal encounter with law enforcement, Angela Washington spoke to , shedding light on the tragic incident involving 47-year-old Patrick Hurst.

According to Washington, Hurst was fatally shot by Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies during a traffic stop on FM-1960 near Ella Boulevard, following a brief chase and exchange of gunfire.

Washington revealed that she was on the phone with her brother at the time of the confrontation, urging him not to escalate the situation. To her disbelief, Hurst was livestreaming the encounter on Facebook Live.

Contrary to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez’s assertion that Hurst was a sovereign citizen, Washington stated that her brother did not identify as such to his family. She acknowledged his struggles with mental health in recent years but expressed shock at the turn of events, emphasizing his past commitment to faith and family.

Despite the tragic outcome, Washington harbors no animosity toward the sheriff’s office. However, she seeks to ensure that her brother is remembered beyond the circumstances of his final moments.

The incident also resulted in injuries to an innocent bystander and damage to a school bus, prompting further investigation by the HCSO to determine the source of the gunfire responsible for these consequences.
