Drive-by shooting at Fort Worth apartment complex leaves 6 hurt, 4 being children

There was a significant police presence at a Fort Worth apartment complex following a shooting on Wednesday evening, where at least six individuals, including multiple children, were injured by gunfire.

Responding to reports of a shooting around 7:30 p.m., numerous officers from the Fort Worth Police Department rushed to the scene located in the 3600 block of Las Vegas Trails.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered six victims with gunshot wounds. Five of them were promptly transported to a nearby hospital, while one victim opted to remain at the scene and declined medical assistance.

According to MedStar Ambulance Services, they transported five patients, with four of them being taken to Cooks Children’s Medical Center. However, the current conditions of the victims have not been disclosed.

Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes and Public Information Officer Brad Perez stated that the ages of the victims ranged from 3 years old to 19 years old.

Preliminary findings from the investigation suggest that the victims were gathered outside an apartment when an unidentified vehicle pulled up. Allegedly, someone inside the car began shooting at the group, resulting in their injuries.

As of Wednesday night, authorities have stated that it is too early to determine the motive behind the shooting, and they have no information regarding the identity of the gunman.
